The Iowa Fair Trade Campaign needs your help to make sure the next President knows that the time is NOW for fair trade policies. There are three simple ways you can get involved:
- Attend a Candidate event and question the candidate about trade. See suggested questions. Contact us for tips and to report back on answers.
- Bring Fair Trade to your community. Contact us to set up a presentation on Fair Trade with your activist or church group, your friends, neighbors. Just call us and we’ll take care of the rest.
- Attend Fair Trade events. We’re holding Fair Trade workshops all around the state. Also, we’ll be holding our own publicity actions closer to caucus day. Contact the IFTC to find an event in your area.
Bird-dogging is the most powerful tool the Iowa Fair Trade Campaign has to advocate for a new, Fair Trade model. Trade affects us all, and the candidates won’t tell us their exact stance unless we ask tough questions.
We have already seen their positions change since we’ve been tracking them (and blogging their positions here and here) on the campaign trail, and know we can get solid commitments. Contact us to get birdogging, and check out our events calendar to see when the candidates will be in your neck of the woods!
